Does drinking cause you problems with your: health, job, finances, family, relationships, social life, sex life?
How could we help? Discussing your concerns with a counsellor can give you the chance to think through your situation and decide what to do next. You may decide to stop drinking, to cut down or to make other changes in your life.
What does counselling involve? With a trained counsellor you can talk about your concerns and your feelings in a confidential and supportive environment. He or she will help you to identify the things you want to change and support you as you make those changes. You will be treated with respect and you won't be told what to do.
Counselling sessions usually last about an hour and may be a one-off appointment, a few regular sessions, or take place over a long period of time; whatever meets your needs.
You can choose to see the counsellor alone or bring a friend or relative with you.
Concerned about someone else's drinking? Please click on link to DAFS for further infomation about services available.
Not sure what help you want? If you feel that you do not want to see a counsellor at this stage, we can provide self-help leaflets which offer ideas about what you could do. We can also let you know what services are available elsewhere.
