At Gwent Alcohol Project (GAP) we believe in equality of opportunity for all.  The philosophy, policy and practice of the project is based on this belief.  The counselling service offered at GAP is available to anyone living on Gwent and over the age of 16 years.

We recognise that certain groups of people are discriminated against on the basis of sex, ethnic or national origin, age, sexuality, degree of able-bodiedness or other factors.

We actively seek to promote anti-discriminatory practice in order to redress the balance in favour of equality of opportunity and respect for all people.

We will do our best to improve our availability and accessibility to all members of the community.

We will always try to recruit our volunteer counsellors from a wide range of ethnic and social groups and endeavour to make access to paid employment and voluntary work as equitable as possible.

All those involved with the agency will be asked to take an active role in promoting and developing our equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice.
